Germany

The German IM policy mandates that ammunition introduced into service must be insensitive to external stimuli.
Such policy is entirely based on A-2070/3 and NATO STANAGs 4439, 4240, 4241, 4382, 4396, 4496, 4526.

Reference: Zentrale Dienstvorschrift (ZDv) A-2070/3 “Munitionstechnische Sicherheit der Bundeswehr und Schießsicherheit der Bundeswehr –

Implementation: Ammunition introduced into service must be insensitive to external stimuli. This extends to older ammunition already in service but still in production.

Status

Creating the accreditations with regard to an ammunition’s insensitivity lies with the Technical Center for Weapons and Munitions (WTD 91), more specifically its Branch 320 [GF 320 -Sprengstoffe, Pyrotechnik, IM-Technologie].
