ABSTRACT
AOP 15 is intitled "Guidance on the assessment of the safety and suitability for service of non-nuclear munitions for NATO armed forces". It scope is mainly related to safety, i-e fortuitous stimuli.
Some fires are fortuitous, and related risks are thoroughly assessed in AOP 15.
However, the major parts of stimuli considered in IMs are deliberate ones:
- battle induced fires,
- bullets, shaped charge jets, fragments.
Theses types of stimuli are normally treated by a survivability methodology or a wargame approach.
In AOP 15, these latter stimuli can be analysed ; induced risks can be assessed.
But treatment is not adapted: survivability is based on complementary actions:
IM is an intrinsic answer, but only of the third action type.
